Cannabinoids are natural compounds found in cannabis. Two well-known cannabinoids are THC and CBD. In addition to these cannabinoids, cannabis grass contains more than 120 other cannabinoids. Furthermore, in addition to natural cannabinoids, there are also synthetic cannabinoids and endocannabinoids found in our bodies.

THC
THC is one of the major cannabinoids.
THC is called delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, and THC has a psychoactive effect. Because of its effects, THC is regulated in some countries, and in the United States, DEA is considered a Schedule 1 controlled substance. It has been suggested that THC can have a negative effect on the psyche and brain cells, especially in teenagers, when they get high from ingesting THC.
THC medications are used to treat nausea and vomiting in chemotherapy, anorexia in AIDS, glaucoma, and muscle spasms.
CBD
CBD is one of the major cannabinoids, along with THC.
CBD interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system, acting on the central and peripheral nervous systems. Unlike the aforementioned THC, CBD has no psychotropic effects and does not cause a “high. It is also used to treat anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, joint pain, and addictions. CBD is not regulated by the FDA and can be purchased at pharmacies without a prescription in some countries.
Cannabis Regulations in Thailand
Thailand legalized the use of medical cannabis in 2018, and in June 2022, cannabis regulations were significantly relaxed to allow personal use of some cannabis products.
Current Thai law now allows consumption of cannabis products with THC content of less than 0.2%, but prohibits public use.
Prior to cultivation of cannabis, notification must be submitted to the local authorities. Vendors must register with the Thai Food and Drug Administration (FDA) before they can cultivate cannabis.
Since Thai law has made it legal to possess, cultivate, distribute, merchandise, and sell all parts of the cannabis plant, it is now also legal to handle CBD products such as CBD oil.
CBD products and cannabis products cannot be brought into or taken out of Thailand without authorization from the Thai government.
Summary
We have introduced the major cannabinoids.
THC and CBD are known as the two main cannabinoids. THC acts on the mind and makes people high, while CBD has no psychotropic effect and is used to treat anxiety, insomnia, and other disorders. Thai law allows cannabis products with less than 0.2% THC content, and the number of stores selling CBD products is increasing rapidly.
Thailand’s cannabis industry is leading the way in Asia and is expected to have a presence in the global market in the future.
